1805: Sea of Glory
A Napoleonic naval operational game of breakout, pursuit, and blockade where hidden-block fog of war and scouting determine contact. Players command Allied (French & Spanish) and British squadrons and fleets, managing frigates on station, organizing ship-of-the-line compositions off-map, and timing sorties to form a combined invasion force or to intercept enemy movements. Weather and wind affect movement and the ability to maintain blockades; storms and prevailing winds can lift or shroud blockaders and create openings for escape or transatlantic transit. Tactical combat uses maneuver and tactics chits, with ship ratings for firepower and morale and admiral abilities that influence pursuit, retreat, and battle outcomes. Victory can come from controlling the Channel or fulfilling variable strategic objectives such as invasions, naval defeats, or protecting trade and colonies.
