A Fistful of Meeples

Players take handfuls of meeples and drop them along a dusty Wild West street to claim actions and locations. Each turn players redistribute meeples to perform activities like mining for gold, constructing businesses, engaging in duels, and triggering jail breaks, using a blend of mancala-style sowing and worker-placement choices. Scoring derives from controlled buildings, collected resources, and resolved conflicts; the game ends when conditions on the board are met and the highest-scoring player wins.

Mancala game. You choose a space, pick up the meeples in that space, then drop them off one at a time along the action spaces in either direction around the board, then resolve the actions where those meeples end up. The actions depend on the color relationship of meeples between the one you placed and the ones next to the space you left it in. Points come from spending resources to place buildings on the board, which improve some of your action opportunities, or by stockpiling the gold resource until you meet the threshold to take a bar from the supply. You need to be careful because meeples left where other players have buildings means they get to resolve the action instead of you, so there are some substantially AP inducing situations. Ultimately the filler nature of the game limits it, and the AP outweighs my interest in the process of play. ★ Art, Iconography and components functional ★ Clever or interesting mechanisms ☆ Reasonably low downtime between turns with mildly AP players ☆ Multiple plays stay interesting ★ Low or mitigatable luck elements ★★★☆☆ Raw enjoyment
