The War of the Five Kings cycle advances through a sequence of new chapter cards that shift the strategic landscape around siege and naval operations. Players build and modify faction decks using new character and location cards, adding tools for Summer- or Winter-focused strategies and fresh options for military, intrigue and power challenges. New limited and unique characters join the card pool and interact with existing synergies, while plot and attachment cards influence tempo and resource management. Gameplay centers on deck construction and synchronous card play during rounds of challenges, where players marshal characters, marshal responses, and resolve effects to claim dominance across military, intrigue, and power tracks.
