Drought and Pestilence (fan expansion for Carcassonne)
This fan expansion adds rat infestations and droughts to the medieval landscape. Rat-infested cities are marked with a skull-and-crossbones icon, while drought areas show dried land and a crossed water droplet. Tiles are placed and followers deployed according to the standard rules. A follower may serve as a knight in a rat-infested city, but drought areas cannot receive followers directly. Farmers may still be placed in surrounding fields, though farms containing drought icons reduce their scoring by one point per city when a barn is added or the farm is joined with another.
