Fields of Despair: France 1914-1918

Two players command the Allied and Central Powers on the Western Front, resolving land, sea, and air operations while managing economic and technological choices at home. Hidden-value wooden blocks represent formations and maintain fog of war; block strengths range widely and can be split or combined during movement, including zero-value deception blocks. Reconnaissance or deliberate actions reveal enemy block identities, so positions and true strengths remain uncertain until players commit resources. Play uses a hex map, air squadrons, naval/eastern-front chits, counters for artillery, tanks, and markers for economy and production, with scenarios guiding varied strategic and operational challenges.

Primera partida escenario de 1914. Un juego con ideas frescas y que intenta simplificar y abstraer de forma original partes de la Primera Guerra Mundial mientras hacemos las operaciones militares en el oeste. Dinámico y rápido, buenas sensaciones pero con reservas: puedes mover todas tus piezas en el turno y la fase estratégica hacen que acumules el máximo de divisiones en los puntos de ataque. El tema de los aviones también me parece embrollado para el resultado. El escenario de 1914 es un Alemán Arrollador que es imparable por parte del Francés, no consiguieron llegar a París, pero el Francés no tiene fuerzas para intentar contraataques debido a la concentración de fuerzas del alemán en los puntos clave, el puede cubrir todo y el Francés como mucho mantener.
