Close Encounters introduces a small deck of cards that completely changes the way you observe… and remember. During the game, the new cards are shuffled into the base game deck and revealed as usual. But when a Close Encounter appears, something different happens: instead of adding an animal to the count, it cancels out one that has already been seen. And what if that animal had never appeared? The total remains at zero.
