This expansion explores the darker side of the outbreak, adding zombie versions of the player characters and mutated enemy types. Players can flip their characters into shambling rivals with distinct abilities and win conditions, while new infection rules introduce altered behaviors and effects for recently turned zombies. Components and scenarios integrate with the base game to increase unpredictability and create tense chases as survivors and their undead counterparts pursue different objectives.
