Legion of Honor

Players portray individual French soldiers rising through the Revolutionary and Napoleonic eras from 1792 to 1815. The game progresses through campaign seasons made of ‘In Garrison’ and ‘On Campaign’ rounds while fixed historical events—political changes, battles, and ceremonies—occur in their real sequence. Players use a card-driven system to seek promotion, awards, wealth, and glory by taking assignments, fighting in campaigns, recovering from wounds, dueling, and cultivating influence. Each character tracks attributes such as rank, title/office, Legion of Honor, Napoleon’s notice, glory, money, health, charm, fencing skill, and standing with commanders. Victory is by achieving prominence in rank, honors, glory, or wealth. The game supports solitaire to multiple players and offers short Republican and Imperial scenarios or a combined grand campaign.
