Shadows of Brimstone: The Ancient One

A colossal alien entity from beyond the stars manifests in the world, tearing holes in time and reality as it seeks to crush or remake existence. Players face a single XXL enemy that moves and attacks with area-strike abilities, can shift time and rewrite aspects of the scenario, and opens portals to other dimensions. The enemy wields a sweeping weapon that can hit multiple figures at once and applies persistent battlefield effects. At the start of its appearance a narrative-driven card is drawn that explains its motive, grants special bonuses to the enemy, and changes the mission’s failure conditions and rewards, forcing players to adapt tactics mid-game.
