Star Realms: Crisis – Events
This expansion introduces a new card type: events that trigger immediately when they appear in the trade row. Events apply one-off global effects—destroying or damaging bases, forcing discards or draws, moving cards, or altering combat and economy—changing the state of the game mid-round. The box contains a small set of twelve event cards with varied impacts, from boardwide hazards to beneficial manipulations. Players integrate these events into the existing deck and trade row, adapting deckbuilding and tactical choices to the sudden, temporary effects that can rewrite plans and shift advantages.

Ivan Madd10.0 Adds a bit of randomness that players have to adapt to. Could be argued that it makes the game less strategic. It definitely makes it less predictable. However, I think the events treat all the players fairly, they aren't setup in a way that rewards one player while screwing the other, instead they both get hurt or they both get rewarded just possibly in different ways. Because of that balance, I think the randomness of the events adds to the fun rather than taking away from the strategy.
