Substandard Magic Items
This PDF introduces rules for creating, using, and identifying substandard magic items. Competent spellcasters use shortcuts or inferior components to produce cheaper, fallible versions of items they could otherwise create normally. The rules cover rushed crafting and the discovery of inferior magic weapons, armor, and other treasures, with results that can be useful, unreliable, or disastrous.
