The Blitzkrieg Legend: The Battle for France, 1940

Simulates the May 1940 German offensive through Belgium, the Netherlands and northern France using a 3-mile-per-hex ground scale and two-day turns. Players command the German and Allied (French, Belgian, Dutch and BEF) forces as armored spearheads, infantry and supports maneuver through the Ardennes, across the Meuse and toward the English Channel. Play emphasizes operational maneuvers, deliberate use of reserves, and consequences of the historical Dyle Plan versus alternate deployments. Special rules cover the Maginot Line, bridge and fort captures, limited special operations, evacuation and naval support for the BEF, pause events that constrain German armor, and scenario-driven surrender checks for Holland and Belgium. Multiple scenarios and three campaign options allow short tactical battles or the full 13‑turn campaign.
