Tyrants of the Underdark: Board Game

You must have Presence in the location to use the Assassinate action; it also costs 3 Power to perform (see page 13). Power is spent from your resource pool when you take the action (see page 9).

Deploy places a troop from your deck or hand into a space (action: Deploy) and Move shifts your troops between connected spaces; Supplant is a special sequence where you first assassinate an enemy (requiring Presence) and then deploy into that space to remove their troop — you can’t supplant without the assassination step (see pages 14 and 16).

You pay Influence to recruit a card from the market row; after a recruit the market is immediately refilled from the recruit deck up to the market limit (see page 15), with initial setup showing the starting market layout (see page 6).

You place spies with the Place Spy action to gain Presence in a location; returning enemy spies or forces requires Presence and typically costs Power (for example, returning an enemy spy costs 3 Power) — see page 15 for Return forces and page 12 for Presence rules.

The game ends when an endgame trigger occurs (for example, a certain number of total control markers or running out of a deck) and then final scoring is resolved including inner-circle/promote VPs and territory control scoring as described in the Endgame and Final Scoring sections (see pages 16 and 10).
