Wondrous Weavings Warped & Weird
An alternate arcane magic system for Old-School Essentials and similar classic fantasy role-playing games, inspired by Jack Vance, Fritz Leiber, fairy tales, and folklore. The rules apply primarily to magic-users and elves, giving them greater versatility and power at lower levels while reducing their dominance at higher levels. Spellcasters can improve a spell’s efficiency or strength by accepting the risk of Magical Mishaps, which introduce unpredictable consequences.
