Players each start with one secret card from a shared sixteen-card deck and take turns drawing one card, playing one of the two in hand, and resolving its effect before discarding it. Cards modify information, manipulate hands, or alter the location called the Ruins, which also holds cards and can gain more during play. When the deck runs out, an investigation phase begins: using the investigation speeds on the remaining hand cards, players take ordered guesses to identify which player (including themselves) or the Ruins holds the single Lost Legacy card. A correct guess wins the game; if nobody locates the Lost Legacy, all players lose. The system supports combining sets to increase the player count up to six.
