Players assume unique monster-hunting heroes in a gothic, Colonial-era town beset by supernatural forces. They investigate locations, gather resources and abilities, and build their characters’ strength while racing to locate the villain’s lair. Encounters spawn minions and hazards that must be fought or evaded; combat and event cards drive escalating threats. The game supports competitive play to be the first to defeat the Villain or cooperative play to tackle stronger Villains together. Components include character and villain figures, location markers, and thematic cards that shape investigations, combat, and the final showdown.
