Players command period units—men-at-arms, pike, arquebusiers, Landsknechts and cavalry—maneuvering on detailed maps while resolving combat with die rolls and era-specific mechanics that track closed vs. open formations and differences in weapon types. Scenarios range from short, compact battles to a large, full-map action, emphasizing maneuver, formation management, and the evolving interaction of firepower and shock troops.
