Charlemagne, Master of Europe
Play as a medieval ruler seeking to expand and manage a Frankish empire across Europe. This solitaire strategy game has players conduct military campaigns, suppress rebellions, placate court factions, and pursue cultural and infrastructural projects to increase prestige and resources. Enemy forces and challenges are tracked with a three-cup system that moves chits between Friendly, Unfriendly, and Hostile states; hostile chits are drawn and placed on the map as active threats. Players also negotiate relations with the papacy and Byzantium, convert or pacify pagan regions, and respond to Viking and Andalusian incursions while balancing army strength, administration, and long-term stability.
