Disney Villainous: Wicked to the Core

Players each control one of three Disney villains, managing a personal villain board, a unique villain deck, and a fate deck used by opponents. On a turn, the active player moves their 3D character to a location on their board, takes one or more actions there (often by playing cards), and then refills their hand. Cards include allies, items, effects, and conditions that help advance a villain’s individual win condition. One action lets players draw from another villain’s fate deck and play a card onto that opponent’s board to disrupt their actions. The set plays standalone and its characters are compatible with the original Villainous game.

Rules questions

Answered from the rulebook by Ludoya's rules assistant.

Do I draw up to four cards at the start of my turn?

No — you only draw at the end of your turn if you have fewer than four cards, and if your Villain deck is empty you shuffle your discard to form a new deck. (page 4)

If I can't do what a card says, can I still play it?

No — if you cannot do what the card instructs, you may not play it; however, if the card text uses "may," that part is optional and you can still play the card. (page 10)

When I Vanquish a Hero, do I have to discard the Allies I used and where does the Hero go?

Yes — to Vanquish you discard the Ally or Allies used to your Villain discard pile, and you discard the defeated Hero to your Fate discard pile; multiple Allies may combine their Strengths to meet the Hero's Strength. (page 6)

If I reveal Fate cards and neither can be played, do I get to reveal new ones?

No — if a revealed Fate card cannot be played it must be discarded, and if both revealed cards cannot be played you discard both without effect; you do not reveal replacements. (pages 5, 10)

In a 5- or 6-player game, what does the Fate Token do — can I be targeted while I have it?

When you are targeted by a Fate action you take the Fate Token from the last player who was targeted, and while you have the Token you may not be the target of a Fate action, though you can still be affected by Conditions and other card Abilities. (page 9)
