Kingdom of Heaven: The Crusader States 1097-1291

Two players reenact military and political struggle in the Eastern Mediterranean, using a card-driven system to activate armies, trigger events, conduct diplomacy and prosecute sieges across a map from Antioch to Cairo and Cyprus to Mosul. Nine scenarios represent major campaigns from 1097–1291, each adding scenario-specific cards to the common deck; turns represent years and most scenarios play in 3–4 hours. Players command historical leaders, manage yearly operations, and resolve battles and sieges as they compete for control of the Crusader states and surrounding territories.
