Sword of Rome: Conquest of Italy, 362-272 BC

Card-driven, point-to-point wargame recreating the struggles of Italian and Sicilian peoples in the 4th and 3rd centuries BC. Players command regional powers, play event cards to activate units, conduct raids, sieges and pitched battles, and manage city loyalty and colonies across a map of Italy and Sicily. Special rules represent tribal indiscipline, Greek siegecraft, war elephants, Roman and Macedonian tactics, and terrain like the Samnite mountains. The game plays nine hands of cards covering over a century, with asymmetric faction strengths, diplomacy among up to four players, and a 152-card strategy deck that shapes operations and historical events.
