The Battle of Five Armies

A tactical miniature wargame set on the slopes and valley around the Lonely Mountain during the climactic fight from Tolkien's novel. One side fields the Elvenking, Dain's dwarves, and Men led by Bard with possible reinforcements like Gandalf, Eagles, and Beorn; the opposing side commands Goblins, Wolves and Bats under Bolg. Players move units across a mapped terrain board and resolve combat with rules adapted from a larger strategic system to function at a battle scale. Plastic figures represent troops, heroes and monsters, and scenario-driven victory conditions reflect key narrative objectives rather than grand strategic conquest.
