The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game – Nightmare Deck: Return to Mirkwood
This expansion repurposes an existing cooperative card scenario into a harder, Nightmare Mode version. It replaces and adds encounter cards, introduces tougher enemies and more hazardous locations, and includes rules for integrating the new cards into the original quest setup. The pack contains a fixed set of encounter cards, a Nightmare Mode card that specifies which original encounter cards are removed, and an additional rules card that alters setup and play. Players use these components to rebuild the encounter deck and replay the scenario with increased difficulty and new tactical challenges.
