The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game – Nightmare Deck: The Drowned Ruins
Players explore a sunless temple and navigate winding underwater passageways to reach a sealed chest that opens only with their key. Gameplay adds more dangerous locations and encounter effects that trigger when characters are submerged, increases encounter difficulty, and introduces new foes such as submerged revenants and a great shark. Players must manage breath and Forced effects, contend with encounter effects that cannot be canceled in Nightmare Mode, and adapt deck interactions to the altered encounter deck. This product supplies 20 cards that replace specific encounter cards from the original adventure pack to convert that scenario to Nightmare difficulty; it requires the core game and the referenced expansions to play.
