World At War 85: Storming the Gap – The Defense of Frankfurt
This module simulates combat near Frankfurt, West Germany, during a Warsaw Pact offensive through the Fulda Gap. It includes sixteen geomorphic maps: eight summer maps showing cultivated terrain and eight winter versions with different lines of sight. The maps can be combined with each other and with maps from the series to create large custom battlefields. Two large scenarios use the full Frankfurt configuration and introduce optional Battalion and Regimental Activation rules. In one, Soviet armored forces drive toward the Main River crossings; in the other, NATO reserves launch a counterattack with M1 Abrams, U.S., and West German formations.
