A Most Fearful Sacrifice: The Three Days of Gettysburg

A two-player American Civil War wargame that recreates the three days of fighting at Gettysburg. Players command Corps-level formations across a large map with over 500 counters, resolving combat and movement through a card-driven activation system that emphasizes fog, friction, and sudden events. Activations occur by Corps while players choose Division priority within those activations, preserving tactical choices at a larger scale. The rules use card draws to pace play and introduce unpredictable “black swan” events, allowing reconstruction of grand maneuvers and local engagements without heavy rules overhead.
