Players act as rival royal families on the Nile, acquiring provinces through auctions, developing them for agriculture and trade, and using income to buy building stones and erect pyramids. Gameplay combines auctioning for provinces, management of power cards, strategic bidding for officials and special minis, and making offerings to Amun-Re to gain favor. Optional modules add variety: officials that grant instant bonuses, tomb tiles that build a personal pyramid tableau with placement bonuses, rotating statue powers tied to provinces, and a pharaoh token that rewards overbidding. Scoring rewards completed pyramids and fulfilled offerings; rounds repeat seasonal cycles of auctions, markets, and offerings.
