B-17: Queen of the Skies

Solitaire strategic wargame that recreates early Eighth Air Force bombing missions of a B-17F over Europe in late 1942–mid 1943. Players move the bomber through zoned airspace toward a target while charts, tables, and dice determine weather, flak, fighter appearance, type, and positioning. Combat, damage, and bombing outcomes are resolved via die rolls and lookup tables that locate hits and assess severity. The game usually plays in under an hour after initial sessions and supports an optional second player who manages German fighter actions within the framework of the random encounter system.
