The Fields of Normandy: A Solitaire Wargame

A solo hex-and-counter wargame presented in book form that recreates the Allied push into Normandy in World War II. Players command rifle squads, machine-gun teams, mortar crews and PIAT teams across colour map hexes to reach mission objectives while managing movement, fire and terrain effects. Enemy units are revealed, positioned and activated by the rules rather than by an opposing player, creating an automated opponent to counter during play. The book contains rules, colour maps and 15 missions with randomized enemy deployments; play requires only the book, a pencil, an eraser and two six-sided dice.
