Downfall: Conquest of the Third Reich, 1942-1945

Two players recreate the Allied drive into Germany, one directing Western forces and their Axis-facing surrogate, the other directing Soviet forces and their Axis-facing surrogate. Both sides aim to eliminate the Reich while jockeying for political advantage in post-war Europe. Play revolves around an initiative track: the faction holding initiative pays its cost by advancing a marker, chooses and executes an order, and then initiative is recalculated to determine who acts next. Advancing markers also trigger strategic events, weather shifts, and turn progression, so players balance actions against the changing initiative economy.
