Hearts and Minds: Vietnam 1965-1975 (Third Edition)
A card-driven, area-based simulation of the Vietnam War that pits Allied forces (US, ARVN, Cambodian and Laotian) against Communist forces (NVA, VC, Cambodian and Laotian). Players use three decks (red, blue, and a black deck split between them) to generate resource points, historical events, and special campaign abilities while maneuvering abstract units across provincial areas on a mounted map. Gameplay emphasizes guerrilla warfare and political control: VC units can remain hidden or represent misinformation, political unrest and casualties affect morale and coup risk, and provincial Hearts-and-Minds contests determine VC influence and government stability. Eight scenarios cover single years with an optional full campaign; rules include solitaire play and simplified combat and victory conditions for quicker play.
