Players guide young hobbits from the Shire toward Mount Doom, racing to be the first to destroy the One Ring. Movement along a linear map brings encounters with allies who help and foes who impede progress, while flying Nazgûl periodically hinder advances. The game includes a simplified children’s version and a slightly more advanced variant that adds the Palantír mechanic, which increases discovery and delays as hobbits near Mordor.
